Uveitis Subspecialist
Dr. Escott is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with additional training in uveitis. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Following an internship at the National Naval Medical Center in Maryland, she served four years on active duty in the United States Navy as a Flight Surgeon both home and abroad. During this time, she was the Department Head of Aviation and Occupational Medicine and led the Marine Fighter Attack squadron 314 on a Western Pacific deployment. Dr. Escott went on to complete an Ophthalmology residency at The Ohio State University Havener Eye Institute where she served as Chief resident followed by a clinical uveitis fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago. She was certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 2016, has published two book chapters, and served as a sub-investigator in many clinical trials. Dr. Escott spent five years living and working as the sole ophthalmologist on the island of St. Croix providing a broad range of medical and surgical services to the local community. In January of 2024, Dr. Escott joined Morganton Eye Physicians with a focus on comprehensive patient and family-centered care.
